U.S. Conference of Mayor's Award for Excellence from the Mayors Business Council 2002 Public-Private Partnerships Award
Denver’s redevelopment of the former Stapleton International Airport has received the 2002 Public-Private Partnerships Award from the Mayor's Business Council of the U.S. Conference of Mayors

The Mayor's Business Council established the awards to encourage businesses and cities to work together as city resources become stretched and the need for local community improvements increases. The 2002 recipients were chosen by the Business Council for demonstrating civic responsibility and corporate commitment to economic development; urban revitalization; workforce development; affordable housing; education reform and water conservation.

"Today we celebrate important partnerships between cities and businesses. Together, mayors and the business community are tackling important issues like jobs, housing, Brownfields redevelopment and infrastructure redevelopment to improve the quality of life in our cities," said Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino, President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors. "We commend all the winners of these awards for their efforts."

Mayor Webb accepted the award at the winter meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Washington, D.C.
