Technical Specifications for Front Porch Ads

The Front Porch is printed digitally. Every ad file must meet the printer’s specifications or printing will be delayed while files are corrected and additional print charges will be incurred. Please do not submit your ad until you have verified that it meets the following specifications.

Ad size - Be sure the artwork matches the contracted ad size

File Format - We recommend TIF or high quality JPG format. Word files are not recommended. If sent, they will be converted to TIF or JPG and fonts are likely to change. We will accept PDF and EPS files but do not take responsibility for files that may not print exactly as they look in the designer’s computer. All fonts must be converted to outlines or embedded. Files with transparency should be flattened to ensure accurate printing.

Color Ads – Files must be CMYK (no RGB or spot colors).
(Note: Most monitors are not calibrated to match printed products. Please be sure desired colors are determined by correct CMYK percentages, not by appearance on the screen.)

Black/Grayscale Ads – Files must be black ink only (no black builds).

Resolution - Color or grayscale TIFF photos or illustrations should be 200 - 300 dpi. (Lower resolution will result in lower quality reproduction. Higher resolution will not improve print quality – it will just increase file size.)

Darkness/Dot Gain - Photos should be slightly lighter than for printing on coated paper to compensate for dot gain on uncoated paper.

Please save files with no compression, color profiles or crop marks

Delivery of Ads - Send ads by email to design@fineprintco.com. Please put  “Front Porch Ad/advertiser name” in the subject. Files may be compressed using .sit and .zip. If ads must be mailed or shipped, send to:

Please label CD with advertiser name and month ad appears. If you want the disk to be returned, please send a stamped self-addressed mailer.  Please notify us that files will be sent by mail or delivery.

Advertiser must receive confirmation - If you have not received an emailed confirmation within 48 hours that your ad was received, call FinePrint at 303-526-1969 or email frontporchads@fineprintco.com to confirm file was received.
