Energy Star
At Stapleton, building ENERGY STAR homes is just one of the many ways that we’re realizing our vision of sustainability. Since 2006, every Stapleton builder has been an ENERGY STAR partner—making it the largest community in Colorado and one of the largest master-planned communities in the nation to have 100% builder participation in the ENERGY STAR program.
To earn the ENERGY STAR label, Stapleton builders must adhere to strict guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and qualifying homes must pass an energy efficiency test conducted by an independent third-party inspector (known as a Home Energy Rating System rater). Qualified homes can include a variety of energy-efficient features such as effective insulation, high performance windows, tight construction and ducts, efficient heating and cooling equipment, and ENERGY STAR qualified lighting and appliances.
ENERGY STAR homes are at least 15% more energy efficient than homes built to the 2006 International Energy Conservation Code—which means savings for you!
