Guests received the “red carpet” treatment at the April 6 Grand Opening Gala for Harkins Theatres NORTHFIELD 18.

The evening consisted of a cocktail hour, live entertainment from ballroom and Latin dancers, an exclusive look at the new theatre and a silent auction. The evening’s highlight was a special premier preview of the new movie, “Take the Lead,” starring Antonio Banderas. Proceeds from this gala event benefited the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Denver.

Harkins Theatres NORTHFIELD 18 features several of the company’s signature amenities, including Harkins Ultimate Rockers, which are high-back rocking loveseats; extra large curved, wall-to-wall screens; state-of-the-art digital sound technology; a gourmet snack bar including an expanded hot foods menu; and convenient ticketing via phone, Internet and on-site kiosks. The theatre also features the Harkins Child Play Center, a safe, secure and entertaining experience for children ages 3 to 8. Another highlight is the Harkins Cine Capri, which is a movie auditorium boasting seating for 600 and an enormous 70 x 30-foot screen with 150 speakers delivering more than 40,000 watts of digital sound.

Harkins Theatres, founded in 1933, is a privately owned, Tempe, Arizona-based company which owns and operates 251 screens at 21 Arizona theatres. The Harkins Theatres at NORTHFIELD Stapleton will be the company’s first theatre outside of Arizona.
